এভাবে অনেক বিভাগ থাকে এবং প্রতি বিভাগে সংশ্লিষ্ট সাইটগুলির তালিকা থাকে।এতে করে সাইট খুজে পেতে সুবিধা হয়। ধরুন কেউ ওয়েব ডিজাইন বা ডেভেলপমেন্ট এর টিউটোরিয়াল আছে এমন সাইট খুজছে, এখন সে যদি এ ধরনের সাইটের তালিকা সংরক্ষন করে এরুপ সাইটে গিয়ে কম্পিউটার বিভাগে অনুসন্ধান করে তাহলে হয়ত এ ধরনের অনেক সাইট পেতে পারে। যে সাইটগুলি এরুপ হাজার হাজার সাইটের ঠিকানা বিভিাগভিত্তিক সাজিয়ে রাখে সেই সাইটগুলিকে বলে ডিরেক্টরি সাইট।আর এরুপ সাইটে আপনার সাইটের লিংক প্রদান করার প্রক্রিয়াটিকে বলে ডিরেক্টরি সাবমিশন। এধরনের অনেক ডিরেক্টরি সাইট আছে যারা বিনামুল্যে আপনার সাইটের লিংক সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভাগে যোগ করতে দেবে। এখনতো যার যে ধরনের সাইটের দরকার হয় সে ধরনের দু একটা শব্দ গুগলে লিখে এন্টার দিলেই ঐ ধরনের সাইটগুলি চলে আসে।কিন্তু সার্চ ইন্জিন তৈরীর আগে মানুষ এসব ডিরেক্টরি সাইট থেকেই নিজের প্রয়োজনীয় সাইট খুজে নিত। এখনও যারা নতুন নতুন কম্পিউটার জগতে আসে, ইন্টারনেট কানেকশন নেয় তারা এভাবে সাইট খুজে পেতে চেষ্টা করে।যাই হোক কাজ হচ্ছে বিভিন্ন ডিরক্টেরি সাইটে আপনার সাইটের লিংক সাবমিট করা। এতে করে যারা ডিরেক্টরি সাইটের মাধ্যমে ওয়েবসাইট খোজে তারা আপনার সাইটের খবর পাবে এবং আপনার সাইটের ট্রাফিক/visitor বাড়বে। তো চলুন এবার একটা ডিরেক্টরি সাইটে একটা সাবমিশন করার পদ্ধতি দেখি। প্রথমে আপনি একটা ডিরেক্টরি সাইটে প্রবেশ করুন।

• Submit Link/Add link/Add Url লেখা বাটনে ক্লিক করুন।
• Regular links free লেখা আছে যেই বাটন সেই বাটনটি ক্লিক করে সিলেক্ট করুন।
• এবার নিচের ফাকা ঘরগুলো পূরুণ করুন। আপনাদের বোঝানোর ক্ষেত্রে আমি নাম্বার প্রয়োগ করেছি।আসুন সেগুলো ক্রমিক অনুযায়ী দেখি।( বায়ার আপনাকে এগুলো দিয়ে দিবে বা আপনাকে নিতে হবে)

1. Title: এই ঘরে আপনি আপনার ডাইরেক্টরির টাইটেল বা শিরোনাম দিবেন।একসাথে দুই টার বেশি টাইটেল দেবার দরকার নাই। একটা করে দিলে শব থেকে ভাল। দুই টা দিতে হলে এভাবে দিবেন। দুই টাইটেল এর মাঝে pipeline দিয়ে দিবেন।
2. EX:: Newspaper in Bangladesh | All daily newspaper.
3. Url: এখানে আপনি আপনার সাইটের নাম দিবেন তবে অবশ্যই যেন http:// এটা সহকারে হয়। যেমন http://newspaper.net/ বা http://www.newspaper.net/ ।
4. Description: এই ঘরে আপনার সাইটের ডিসক্রিপশন দিবেন।এটা আপনি নিজে তৈরী করে নিতে পারেন। অথবা আপনার সাইটের আর্টিকেল অনুযায়ী দিতে পারেন।
5. META Keywords: এই ঘরে আপনি আপনার সাইটের কিওয়ার্ড দিবেন। সেটা ১টি বা তার অধিক তবে বেশি না দেওয়াই ভালো।
6. META Description: এখানে আপনার সাইটের মেটা ডিসক্রিপশন দিবেন।এটা মুলত সাইটের অনপেইজের ডিসক্রিপশন।
7. Your Name: এখানে আপনার নাম লিখুন। যেকোনো নাম দিতে পারেন।
8. Your Email: আপনার ইমেইল আইডি দিন।
9. Category: আপনার সাইট অনুযায়ী ক্যাটাগরি নির্বাচন ঠিক করুন।
10. Reciprocal Link URL: এই ঘরটি খালি রাখুন।
11. Submission Rules Agreement: ফাকা বাটনটিতে ক্লিক করুন।
12. সর্বশেষে আপনি Continue বাটনে ক্লিক করুন ।
13. এরপর আসবে your link is submitted. OR
14. Pending for approval

এখানে লিখা আছে যে আপনার ডাইরেক্টরিটি সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে। তবে এটি এপ্রুভ এর জন্য অপেক্ষায় আছে। তাই আপনাকে কিছু সময় অপেক্ষা করতে হবে।আপনার ডাইরেক্টরি এপ্রুভ হলে ইমেইল এর মাধ্যমে তা জানানো হবে। তাই বলে বসে না থেকে অন্য সাইটে কাজ করতে থাকুন। তবে দিন শেষে ইমেইল চেক করতে ভুল্বেন না।
